Christening Gown of Windowpane Cotton C.1915
This christening gown features a rounded yoke of embroidered lawn, sewn to a dress of crisp, snowy white, windowpane cotton. The ruffle and lace insertion are slightly heavier cotton than usual, making for a good match of weight with the windowpane cotton. Just above the final ruffle, silk ribbon has been laced around the circumference of the skirt. A lighter cotton lace adorns the long-sleeve cuffs and neck. Two lovely antique buttons close the back. Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 8-1/2 inches. Neck circumference: 10-1/2 inches. Chest circumference: 25 inches. Length of sleeves: 8-1/2 inches. Cuff circumference: 4-3/4 inches. Bottom hem circumference: 60 inches.
