Lawn Christening Gown and Slip

C.1905

Very sweet cotton lawn ensemble. Bands of cotton embroidered with spirals and flowers alternate with bands of lace to form the square bodice. Little "wings" of lace top the shoulders. Made by machine and by hand. Matching slip with coordinating bottom lace and ruffle. Slip closes with three buttons down the back. As was often customary with older christening gowns, there are no buttons to close the dress. However, it can be closed in one of two ways: a small baby pin as in the photo, or silk ribbon threaded through the entredeux. Cream color ribbon is shown in the photo, but this can be changed to a dusty pink, ecru, or white. A little color adds a wonderful accent.  Both methods are pictured below. Please tell us which you would prefer. Superb condition.     185.00.  #030301.
